About East Sacramento

  • The neighborhood encompasses a total area of approximately 3.3 square miles. Bounded by the American River, Alhambra Boulevard, Elias Avenue, and Sacramento State, East Sacramento is home to nearly 20, 400 people.
  • East Sacramento is served by the Sacramento City Unified School District. Also in the area is California State University, Sacramento (more commonly called as Sacramento State or Sac State); its 300-acre campus is right next to East Sac.
  • There are several points of interest located throughout the neighborhood. The Fabulous Forties, already famous due to the high concentration of luxurious mansions in the area, was even made more famous as it served as the home of former President and Governor of California Ronald Reagan. H Street Homes is another popular residential district where you can find the famed John T. Greene house.
  • McKinley Park offers East Sacramento residents ample space for relaxation and recreational activities. The park features a rose garden, a duck pond, lighted tennis courts, a library, and a paved jogging track. The Clunie Memorial Clubhouse is also found within the park’s grounds.
